BS5979 & BS EN50518

Under the NPCC (National Police Chiefs' Council, which replaced ACPO) for police/fire & rescue service response, Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs) must hold certification to BS5979 Cat II and/or EN50518

Under the NPCC Policies for police/fire & rescue service response (the latter not implemented at this time in all parts of the UK), Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs) must hold certification to BS5979 Cat II (also BS8418 if they monitor BS8418 Detector Activated CCTV Systems).

BS EN 50518 was brought in to replace BS5979 in 2013, however, even with BS5979 being revoked, the NPCC and Insurers agreed to keep it in place unitl 50518 was actually achievable.

We have clients who monitor in Europe and Republic of Ireland who are required to make the move from BS5979 over to EN50518.

If you are looking at designing an ARC or RVRC then we can assist you with the inital design/build, supply you recomended suppliers details for specialist components and then implement all processes and documentation.
